We met with stakeholders throughout the design process to understand their pain points with the developing web app experience. Here are key takeaways:
Addition of a unique loading screen that would still provide an engaging experience while the app loads.
Add something to help ground the AR model to the ground. The model currently just floats in space which can be disorienting for users.
Add measurements and scale indicators to help users understand the size of the aircraft in relation to their environment.
Add pinch to zoom functionality.
Information Architecture
This flow was designed to minimize friction when entering AR while keeping key interactions, such as exploration and content capture, accessible without disrupting the immersive experience.

Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to design within real-world constraints while still creating an engaging and intuitive experience. Although we did not conduct formal user research, collaborating closely with stakeholders helped guide key decisions around usability, feature prioritization, and overall experience flow. I focused on simplifying complex AR interactions into a clear, step-by-step journey, ensuring users could easily enter, explore, and interact with the environment without friction. One key takeaway was the importance of iteration. Early concept sketches allowed me to explore multiple interaction patterns and interface layouts, many of which directly informed the final design. At the same time, I learned how to evaluate tradeoffs, as not all ideas could be implemented due to scope and feasibility. Moving forward, I would incorporate user testing to validate assumptions and further refine interaction decisions, particularly within the AR experience.
